It was a wonderful experience to be commissioned to create the music cover for Ghobar. A long time ago, I had shared my love for the poem “Goun” by Shafiei Ghodkani on my Instagram story. Mr. Haghshenas, who saw this, asked me to collaborate on a piece called Ghobar, which is based on this poem. And what could be better than working on a project that you are passionate about from an intellectual point of view!
Mohammad Shafiei Kadkani is an Iranian poet, translator, researcher, and university professor who was born in Sabzevar in 1939. Kadkani, one of the most famous Persian poets, is one of my favorite poets not only for his beautiful poetry but also for his humility and generosity.
the poem
What is the rush and where are you going to? The desert flower asks the breeze! I am depressed here, replies the breeze! This desert and its sands and you should also leave! I wish I could, stuck in the ground are though my feet! So where are you rushing to? Anywhere except here to be! Have a safe journey from this awful desert and please! Give my regards to blossoms, rain and trees!
?what was my story
After listening to the piece and receiving the song brief, and getting closer to the collective vision of the group that produced this music, I started working. My idea was to show a desert that represents this conversation between “Gon” and the wind. A desert full of dust, full of sand. In the background of this piece, I brought the four instruments that I had a role in producing, and placed them behind this dust. A reference to the current atmosphere of Iranian society where arts are condemned to be behind the dust.
used the ‘Neyriz’ script for the font, which was developed by Ahmad Neyrizi. This script, in addition to its classical characteristics that resonate with our traditional music, has unique Iranian features that distinguish it from other Naskh scripts.

TASK: POSTER DESIGN
TIME: July 2023
how it start
In July 2023, I was offered the opportunity to design the poster for a staged reading of the play “Print”. The author and director of this play was dear Mr. Hamidreza Sanee’far, and the general outline of the play that they told me was very captivating, and I was eager to take on this project. So, we arranged a day to watch their rehearsals and listen to the full text of the play.
:CONCEPT
The play revolves around an event that the protagonist encounters from the very beginning. The main character of the play faces another person in his room who claims to have arrived from the usual route and brought the package that the protagonist had ordered, while the protagonist denies this. The story continues with the protagonist’s efforts to find the key and realizes along the way that many others have lost their keys as well!
!first idea - overdone
For the visual section, I initially tried to show a key inside a cage. The initial drafts were good, but I thought it was too overdone. My idea was that the key in this play is a symbol of humans. Humans are the very keys they are constantly searching for but are looking in the wrong places. The problem can only be solved by this key, but it’s useless because the main problem is not seen. As a result, this key is not good for opening the lock that is on its own body. I thought this key and lock were enough for the poster’s visual part, and there was no need for a cage. So I dropped this idea.
the end
In the end, I arrived at the final poster by adding a layout that was used for the event. Fortunately, I was able to achieve what I had in mind and add a conceptual dimension to the play through the poster. I think it is important for a poster to have its own independent identity as a standalone work.

TASK: POSTER DESIGN
TIME: JUNARY 2023
about project
Theater is my favorite genre in poster design. Maybe even my favorite genre in all of graphic design. It’s a place where ideas can be expressed in so many different ways.
This past July (1402), a friend of mine who was directing a play asked me to design the poster for it.
The play “Orison” by Spanish playwright Fernando Arrabal, which had great potential for experimenting with different ideas, was about to go on stage, and this was an opportunity to create a poster.
After seeing the play and hearing their explanations, I expanded on an idea that I had had from the very beginning.
The Absurd Theater: A Sketch
The play unfolded in an absurd space, a stark reflection of the inherent meaninglessness of human existence. To capture the essence of this theme, I quickly sketched the stage setting.
Elements:
A Coffin: Suspended in the center of the stage, between two ropes, the coffin served as a stark symbol of death, the inevitable end of human existence.
Two Ropes: One rope was too short to serve its intended purpose, while the other was excessively long. Both ropes, like the characters on stage, were devoid of any inherent meaning.
Interpretation: The juxtaposition of the coffin and the ropes highlighted the futility of human struggles and the absurdity of life itself. The ropes, despite their intended function, were rendered useless, much like human efforts in the face of an indifferent universe. The coffin, as a symbol of death, served as a constant reminder of the inevitable end, casting a shadow of meaninglessness over the entire scene.
"god is dead"
Friedrich Nietzsche, the renowned 19th-century German philosopher, famously declared, “God is dead.” This proclamation of God’s demise holds profound significance, marking the loss of an element that has long imbued human existence with meaning. Interpreters argue that Nietzsche’s intent was not to prove or disprove God’s metaphysical existence but rather to serve as a stark warning to humanity teetering on the precipice of nihilism.
Inspired by the theatrical style and the underlying concepts, which undoubtedly drew upon the ideas of Nietzsche, one of the most influential thinkers, I sought to confront the poster’s audience with the era Nietzsche alluded to – an era marked by the death of God and the subsequent demise of meaning and purpose.

I focused on these four visual elements. I thought the coffin was a good symbol for death; death with meaning. But it wasn’t enough. Because death can also have an end and a meaning. So I removed the wood behind the coffin. A coffin that is called a coffin but does not work. Empty and meaningless. It will not accept any dead person and we don’t really know if it can still be called a coffin. And finally, the Nietzschean concept of the matter: the death of God. I hung a cross on the gallows from which, according to the Bible, the blood of God flowed.

I wanted my text to be as close to the Swiss style as possible and to fit everything into one box. That’s why I used the Diba font for my main Persian title and the Agency font for my English title. For the body text, I used the Nian font, which maintains readability as much as possible at small sizes. I used a different font from my main title because my main font – Diba – was not suitable for body text due to the thickness of the pen, and in addition to disrupting the form, it did not achieve the readability I wanted.
Conclusion
This project was very enjoyable for me, and despite the limited time I had, I tried my best to use all my abilities to achieve the best possible result. Working on theater posters gives one the opportunity to bring various and sometimes challenging ideas to life and to bring graphics closer to art as much as possible. Without a doubt, that was my goal as well, and I hope I was successful in this endeavor.

As the Senior Graphic Designer, I was responsible for all the designs published on Varzesh3’s social media. In addition to creating artwork, I was also in charge of managing the content and materials related to the tournament.
what was the problem
The visual task was to present the match results and group tables as quickly as possible. This, along with creating specific artwork for particular games, was considered one of my main responsibilities in this .tournament
about company
Varzesh3, with more than 12 years of experience, is the most visited online Persian media worldwide. As the company’s lead social media graphic designer, I got the chance to design a complete layout for FIFA World Cup 2022 and also featured artwork during the tournament. It was crucially significant to create different templates to be filled and published in seconds
!make it as easy as possible
I designed a file for the tables of all the matches that allowed for updating the table in the shortest time possible after each game. To do this, you just needed to turn on the layer group corresponding to the desired group and then update the numbers in front of the teams. Switching between groups automatically updated all the related text for that group. Using this solution, we were able to have an updated table immediately after each match.
for resaults
For the match results, it was necessary to consider details such as the number of goals, goal scorers, the minutes the goals were scored, as well as the group and teams involved. Additionally, if the match went to a penalty shootout, that also needed to be included in the template. All of this had to be done in a way that ensured the template was not only visually appealing but also as simple and functional as possible, so the match results—one of the most important aspects of the tournament—could be prepared quickly. To achieve this, I designed the following template, which proved to be highly flexible .throughout the tournament
for goal scorers
For the tournament’s top scorers, I needed to design a layout that showcased the top scorer’s image in line with the tournament’s visual identity. Displaying the player’s name, nationality, and the number of goals scored were essential elements of this design. By distinguishing the top scorer, I aimed to draw more attention to them.

As a graphic designer, I was responsible for designing the posters and artwork for the World Cup. It was crucial to visually communicate the fast-paced events of the World Cup to the audience in the highest quality possible. This was a significant task that required me to maintain a high level of quality while also working at a rapid pace.
all on one
As the world’s largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup demanded our full attention and that of our audience. No match was insignificant, and we needed to know the exact schedule of games before they took place. To address this, I developed a design that presented a comprehensive overview of the tournament to our audience. This detailed design ensured that no one would miss a single match.Furthermore, this design was printed and utilized by the Varzesh Se company within their corporate environment.
how it starts
“In anticipation of the matches, I prepared a series of designs that included information about various games, their history, and more. In these designs, I aimed to achieve a unified visual identity for our brand, inspired by the visual identity of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, to create a harmonious overall aesthetic.

counting down
As the tournament approached, I created a series of countdown artworks filled with interesting facts and key information about the World Cup. Some of these artworks also featured the best players associated with those specific numbers.
posters
During the World Cup, there were various significant events and crucial matches that required the design of dedicated posters. This section will delve into these posters.
mbappe's photomontage
Following his impressive performances in the competitions, we decided to create a design for the ‘turtle of the football world’. This concept was already in my mind, and I tried to develop it further, which ultimately led to the result you see
khiabani
In the middle of the group stage matches, when Iran had a chance to advance, Javad Khiabani, a famous TV host, said that if Iran qualifies, he would shave his head completely for the first time. With this concept, we created a photomontage that went viral on social media. The humorous concept I came up with was well received, and I prepared it for release in the shortest possible time.
other posters
And Messi! The captain of the Argentina national team single-handedly led them to the final. I designed this poster for Messi in the middle of the tournament.”
Ronaldo was experiencing his fifth World Cup, a milestone that not many players achieve. I designed a poster centered around Ronaldo, which was published on Varzesh3’s social media
In the end, despite his brilliant performance, Kylian Mbappé and the French national team couldn’t win the trophy. He became the top scorer of the tournament, showcasing his incredible talent and giving us a glimpse of how much we’ll enjoy watching him play football in the future
Everyone was expecting a brilliant performance from Cristiano Ronaldo, but it was Ramos from the Portugal national team who stole the spotlight by scoring a hat-trick
During the World Cup, Messi played his 1,000th game of his professional career. This milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on the memorable moments of Messi’s career.
Morocco became the fourth African team in history to advance to the knockout stage, and I created a poster for them focused on the continent and its nostalgic elements.
premath motion
I also designed a motion graphic to provide the audience with more information, including team lineups, key match details, and other relevant aspects of the game. These motion graphics were created and designed with the unique visual identity of the World Cup in mind.
